Phase One rolled out a new 100-megapixel camera back, a pair of new lenses and an update to Capture One Pro 9 at Photokina 2016.
The new back will fall into the IQ1 series. The IQ1 100MP can mount to both XF and H cameras and a “range of technical systems,” according to Phase One.
The new IQ1 100MP Back is largely identical to the IQ3 100MP Back we reviewed several months ago–it delivers 16-bit color, up to 15 stops of dynamic range and a native ISO of 50-12,800. The IQ1 100MP won’t offer Wi-Fi, a high bandwidth port or support the XF power sharing function.
It is available now for $32,990.
Phase One also announced that photographers will be able to select any Blue Ring lens with a value of up to $6,990 to be included in their XF IQ3 camera kit (before the only choice was an 80mm lens). Time to start turning over those couch cushions.
New Schneider Kreuznach 45mm f/3.5 & 150mm F/2.8
Joining the new back are a pair of new Blue Ring lenses. The new 150mm f/2.8 IF ($6,990) is the fastest Blue Ring telephoto lens to date, while the 45mm f/3.5 ($5,990) delivers “nearly distortion free” wide-angle images, according to Phase One.
Capture One Pro 9.3
Last but by no means least, Phase has updated Capture One Pro to v. 9.3. The update brings tight integration with EIZO monitors, allowing Capture One users to create monitor profiles for EIZO ColorEdge CG-series models in a single click.
The update adds support for the new hardware announced above plus 11 new cameras (Panasonic GX85, Fuji X-T2, etc.) and 15 new lens profiles, plus some tweaks under the hood to optimize performance.
The update is free for all Capture One Pro 9 users. Capture One Pro 9 v. 9.3 costs $299 but if you own v. 8 or 7 you can upgrade for $99.
